{"id":2101,"date":"2024-08-02T00:16:26","date_gmt":"2024-08-02T00:16:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-gaystarnewscouk.gmg-staging.link\/?p=2101"},"modified":"2024-08-02T08:40:57","modified_gmt":"2024-08-02T08:40:57","slug":"red-hot-fire-island-calendar-announcement-kickstarter-gingers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev-gaystarnewscouk.gmg-staging.link\/index.php\/2024\/08\/02\/red-hot-fire-island-calendar-announcement-kickstarter-gingers\/","title":{"rendered":"Important: Red Hot Are Releasing A Calendar Of Hot Gingers On The Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Huge news for ginger lovers: Red Hot are in their final day of crowdfunding for their upcoming photography project, <em>Red Hot: Fire Island, <\/em>a 2025 photo calendar full of pictures of ginger guys wearing very little (if anything at all), having fun on the beach.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike standard calendars that might have a seasonal pumpkin for October, or a robin for December, <em>Red Hot: Fire Island<\/em> inhabits a world of perpetual summer. \u201cWe wanted this calendar to be a fantasy escape to a ginger, gay vacation heaven,\u201d says Red Hot creator and photographer Thomas Knights. \u201cFire Island in the winter is not a thing!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/d1wrk42pj731ls.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2102\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Thomas Knights \/ Red Hot<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2013, Knights has been using Red Hot\u2019s elevated photography projects to reassure the world that redheads *are* sexy, a mission statement we can all get behind. With this calendar, he also captures the joyful frolic that\u2019s often missing in typical thirst traps.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEveryone is so serious on instagram,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019m always trying to get the models to smile and laugh and make it look like we&#8217;ve just caught them a moment where they\u2019ve let their guard down. I often do this by cracking jokes on set and making a fool of myself. Anything to get a natural laugh \u2013 it&#8217;s so much more sexy than a self aware pose.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/d1wrk42pj731ls.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2024\/08\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2103\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Thomas Knights \/ Red Hot<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But the calendar shoot did come with one occupational hazard. \u201cWe used a tremendous amount of sunscreen.\u00a0It\u2019s counter intuitive to put a redhead in hot sun, but the hair pops and looks amazing against the blue sky.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crowdfunding for <em>Red Hot: Fire Island<\/em> ends at 6:15 BST today on Kickstarter.
